Dental Bridge in Poland
Dental bridge in steps:
1. Sometimes teeth are lost.
2. The adjacent teeth are prepared - the tooth area is trimmed away, then the impression is taken and sent to the laboratory.
3. The brand new bridge is fabricated in the laboratory
4. The newly fabricated porcelain bridge is permanently anchored to the previously prepared teeth which exactly matchs the space and is fitted across the gap.
Before and after dental bridge pictures:

The procedure of fitting a dental bridge is almost identical to that of fitting a crown. The teeth on either side are cleaned and trimmed away to make space for the new bridge. Once the whole area is prepared, the dentist takes the impressions which will be used to fabricate the bridge in the laboratory. A temporary bridge is also fitted to protect exposed teeth. On the second visit, the fabricated bridge is fitted, adjusted and then permanently cemented.
There are many different types of bridges that differ by the manufacturing process and the way they anchor to the neighbouring teeth. Materials they are made from include gold, porcelain fused to metal and other precious and non-precious metals.
Prices for a dental bridge with Dentists in Poland start from £560 for a three unit bridge. Usually two, 3 day long visits are required. However, the treatment could also be completed in one, 5 day long visit but only when the patient is clear of any infections (i.e. root canal or gum infections).
Questions on dental bridges.
Why missing teeth need to be replaced?
Aesthetic of your smile is probably the main reason, especially in the case of front teeth. Another reason is that the gap left by a missing tooth causes greater pressure on the neighbouring teeth when chewing, which can over time cause the damage to the healthy teeth. The gap can also have a negative effect on the bite.
Can dental bridges be used for multiple teeth restorations?
Yes, but only if you have at least 5 to 7 healthy teeth remaining in each jaw. Multiple teeth reconstructions on dental bridges are much cheaper than similar solutions on implants, although certain conditions must be met. Your dentist will be able to advice.
How are missing teeth replaced?
There are two main types of dental bridges: partial denture (removable false teeth) and a fixed bridge (permanently cemented teeth). Usually, fixed bridges are used to replace fewer number of missing teeth whereas partial dentures are chosen when there is a significant teeth loss and implants are not preferred or when patients have limited budgets.
What material is used to produce a dental bridge?
Similarly as with crowns, dental bridges are commonly made of porcelain and precious metal (base). Cheaper, non-precious materials are also used.
Is the treatment expensive?
It can be when there are many teeth to replace, although single missing teeth restorations are not hugely expensive. Similar solutions based on implants usually cost much more. Prosthetic dentistry is labour intensive and requires a team of skilful dentists and technicians. Additionally, materials used for restorations are rather expensive. On the good side, well fitted bridges will last for many years and some clinics will issue a warranty on their work.
How to maintain the bridge?
Maintenance of a bridge or denture does not differ much from cleaning your natural teeth. Your new set of teeth needs to be cleaned daily and your dentists will be able to advice how to effectively do it. Sometimes, additional dental cleaning tools such us needles or specific floss are recommended.
What are other methods of replacing missing teeth?
There are other ways to replace your missing teeth. These include implants, combination of crowns with dentures and others. Each method has its advantages and disadvantages and your dentist should be able to advice on the most appropriate method for you.
What other types of bridges are available?
Some other types of bridges that use different fixing methods are also available. Your dentists will be able to help to choose the right one at the initial consultation.
